Perfect for use as hardened weapon mounted sights on heavy caliber weapon platforms the Hyper™ systems feature an internal configuration that utilizes a custom sleeve to protect the image intensifier tube from heavy weapon shock. The Hyper™ line offers both a PVS-14 (Hyper 14™ and a MUM (Hyper MUM™) system variant that comply with MIL-PRF-49324(CR), MIL-PRF-49427(CR) and MIL-STD-810G specification standards for shock, drop, vibration, and water incursion. Hyper™ systems were designed to eliminate many of the common causes of field-related failures. With consideration to the numerous environments today’s soldiers operate in the Hyper™ systems offer improved environmental specifications. With a higher tolerance to submersion, heavy rain and heavy sand, the systems are ready for any battle worldwide. The optical threads on the chassis were strengthened to allow for long-range lenses and a more waterproof seal while the junctures for batteries and j-arms were reinforced to virtually eliminate the need for crew threads. All these improvements were made to the Hyper™ line of systems to ensure that they would be battle ready in any condition.
Photonis’ state of the art image intensifier tubes can be added to both these systems to maximize visibility in night time conditions ensuring that you are the first to see. For military users, Photonis offers the Hyper™ compatible 4G image intensifier tube which sets the benchmark in night vision technology. Photonis’ 4G tube is specifically designed to address the stringent requirements of special forces operators and features ultra-fast auto-gating, the smallest halo and an unrivaled spectral range from ultraviolet to near infrared. The ETHER™ eyepiece is available as a rugged upgrade component for the HYPER™ 14 and HYPER MUM™. The ETHER™ eyepiece offers a larger eyebox and reduced overall weight when compared to the eyepiece provided with a standard-issue Night Vision Device. It also includes a diopter adjustment to reduce the need to carry a separate vision correction component. ETHER™ eyepieces provide significant weight reduction – as much as 30% - when compared to the eyepiece provided with most conventional night vision devices. NVD users who frequently experience head and neck fatigue from heavy legacy devices will enjoy the reduced weight of any NVD equipped with the ETHER eyepiece.
